Lisa G. O’Hearn, Executive Director

Lisa is founder  of ICU. . .Inspire, Create, Unite.  She has worked for over 25 years as sole proprietor in her own legal research business.  
Lisa serves in numerous social service, coaching, dance and art teaching roles.  She  enjoys working with youth and volunteering.  Lisa is
currently the Co-chair person  of The East End Quadrant Planning Committee for The Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration, as well as
President of the Patterson Co–op Class of 1977 Reunion Committee.

Lisa has raced and been a rowing instructor for The Greater Dayton Rowing Association and has competed on a state and regional level as
an  Irish dancer for The Celtic Academy of Irish Dance located in Dayton, Ohio.  She has studied various forms of dance and  taught Meet the
Masters, an art appreciation volunteer program designed for grade school art enrichment.   Lisa is  a member of The Dayton Art Institute.  
She enjoys nature and outdoor activities.  Lisa is an avid backpacker and hiker.  Her hobbies include quilting, gardening, and  yoga.  Some of
Lisa’s areas of interest include genealogy, historical research and participating in inter–active historical plays.  Lisa attends Native American
Pow Wows and has documented her ancestral lineage and been accepted into the Cherokee Wolf Clan.

Richard A. Rice, President


Richard is a Senior Claims Examiner for Celina Insurance Group in Celina, Ohio.  He was formally the Vice President of Claims of Miami Mutual
Insurance Company, an affiliate of Celina Insurance Group.  He served  eleven years on the Covington Village Council, the last four as President.  He
is a past President and board of director of the Covington Noon Optimist Club..  He is a charter member and past president of the Covington–
Newberry Historical Society and past board member of the Miami County Red Cross.

Richard has been accepted into membership into the Sons of Union Veterans of Civil War, Sons of Confederate Veterans,  First Families of Ohio, First
Families of Miami County Ohio and the Sons of the American Revolution.  Richard is a renowned local historian and genealogist having documented
his family back to  the early 1200’s.  Recently,  Richard documented his Native American heritage and was accepted into the Cherokee Wolf Clan.  

Being an advocate of historical preservation Richard was instrumental in getting the City of Dayton to acknowledge ownership of and responsibility for
the maintenance of two Pioneer cemeteries located within their city.
 
Terry L. Drake, Vice President

Terry has been a Dayton businesswoman for over 30 years with a talent for research. She has enjoyed volunteering with ICU research and
restoration projects as well as ICU community events.  Terry has been instrumental in a favorite art project of ICU a scale diorama of Kerr/Drill
Cemetery with surrounding landmarks of the Miami Valley in the mid 1800s.  During the Holiday Season, Terry is also one of Santa’s ICU elves.  
Patty Woodbury, Treasurer

Patty is a Dayton area businesswoman working in the retail division.  She is treasurer of the Patterson Coop Class of 1977 Class Reunion
Committee and the Miami Valley Water Garden Society.

Amy E Jones - Project Manager

Amy E. Jones of Dayton, OH prides herself in being a life-long community servant.  Jones’ service started early with her commitment to helping
those in need and conservation.  Her biggest passions are culture & diversity as well as dialogue & facilitation.  Jones obtained a Bachelor of Arts
from Ohio University in 2000.  She majored in Anthropology, received a minor in Spanish as well as a LASC (Latin American Studies Certificate).  
Jones’ post-secondary education included independent studies in political science, women’s studies, and study abroad in Cuenca, Ecuador, S.A.

Upon graduation, Jones joined AmeriCorps and served as a community organizer and teacher in a part of Dayton that is primarily Urban
Appalachian.  Jones was placed with East End Community Services Corporation, a non-profit organization.  It was here that Jones discovered her
own Appalachian roots and pursued academic courses to better understand her own culture to more effectively serve the community.  Jones came to
be the Program Manager of the East End Youth Development Center and led the youth in academic and cultural programs.  Jones led the agency –
wide diversity education initiative as the Cultural Competency Team Leader.  In 2005, Jones was awarded Sinclair Community College’s
Appalachian Unsung Hero Award for Youth Leadership, due largely in part for her gift to bring together youth of different backgrounds.

Daily News for “Helping Our Youth,” Participant of University of Dayton’s Summit on Eliminating Racism, Local Coordinator for ACTION For A
Change of Initiatives of Change, Long-term substitute Spanish Teacher, Facilitator and Organizer for The Mystery of Love in collaboration with
Civic Life International.  Jones received a Scholarship from Hope In The Cities, of Initiatives of Change, and will graduate from the Connecting
Communities Fellowship Program in Richmond, VA in May of 07.
